Welcome to the fraternity of dance instructors and choreographers. Thanks to the explosion in the entertainment industry, back-stage direction is in demand and choreographers never had it so good.
To start your career in choreography, you must have previous experience of dance. For formal training in classical dance, you can approach any of the cultural centres in the country or you could join any of the universities that offer a course in it. But it is contemporary dance that is becoming increasingly popular among the 'yuppie generation'. There are several private dance academies offering short-term courses in various specialised dance styles and forms.
